Country music legends the Oak Ridge Boys, Barbara Mandrell and Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown joined the faculty at Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) for a luncheon and ceremony to honor Jim Foglesong, a country music industry icon, who for the past 10 years has served as the director of the TNU music business program.  TNU presented Foglesong with the honor of Distinguished Professor of Music Business for devoting the past decade to helping hundreds of TNU students discover successful and diverse music industry careers.

Foglesong’s career in the music industry spans for more than 60 years where he served as president of record labels such as ABC, MCA and Capitol Records’ Nashville division. During his tenure in the industry, he was instrumental in launching the careers of artists such as Suzy Bogguss, Garth Brooks, T. Graham Brown, Marie Osmond, Sawyer Brown, and Tanya Tucker. He also served as a mentor to other artists such as Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, and George Strait. Foglesong was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
